The Octopus Project

by hasalyn

I’ve been thinking a lot about projectors lately … you’ll know why in a few weeks (HINT : It’s for a client)
In researching all things projector, I happened upon this lovely beast (by Phillip Niemeyer of the Brooklyn design studio Double Triple and filmmaker Ryan Junell) and could not NOT share it with you.

It’s basically a bunch of different animation techniques — photocopied images onto transparencies, layered atop a light table and some overhead projectors (my favorite toy as a child), silk screened areas of color, and gradients made with ink.

5,000 still images … is love.
