Periodic Table of Typefaces

Nothing makes me go 4-Loko like good typography. So you can imagine my delight upon discovering the Type Directors Club.

Their aim?  The support of excellence in fonting.  (I too celebrate good fonts – and scorn the bad ones).

The providence of my encounter with their latest project, Posters of Fortune is uncanny.

You see, dear Reader, in addition to my love affair with typeface, I also heart fortune cookies, and more over, have complete and utter faith in the accuracy of their kismet.

In fact, one of the many indications of Logan & my star-crossed-ness, is that he too, keeps his fortunes.  His are stowed in this little Hello Kitty Wallet:

There are many, many fortunes in this wallet.

Anyway, here’s how Posters of Fortune works : 20 different fortunes were handed off to 20 different designers.  The designers took the fortunes and “transmuted these personal divinations into richly imagined typographical posters.”
