Alameda Swap Meet

by hasalyn

In search of authentic Mexican food, eye candy and trinkets, we joined our friends Jamie and Brett on an adventure at the Alameda Swap Meet this morning.

These guys just wrapped up a church service in the center of the swap meet - no joke.

After enjoying the most amazingly lemony carne asada + carnitas tacos, mowing on chili powder-covered coconut meat and mangoes and topping off the day with a Rockaleta pop (four layers of chili powdered / salty lollipop around a core of mango-flavored bubble gum) I’d recommend this Sunday activity to anyone.

Here are my favorite stills from the trip.

Warning: If you have an aversion to pig snouts and cow heads, don’t scroll down.
